Post URGENT - Browser checking is blocking modern users

How do I disable the buggy "modern browser checking"? I changed from Mini to Artist and it seemed to go away, but now I'm getting user reports of getting the lockout page when using FireFox 8 and Chrome 16.0.912.75 m

I cannot recreate the issue - but I'm giving up on it, and I just want to disable the checking altogether. I'd rather have old browser users get a poor experience than to lock out current users.

To disable the browser checker, please add to your theme index.php:

if (defined('OLD_BROWSER') && OLD_BROWSER) {
tpl::part('error');
die();
}
